Oh Floris

I am such a sucker for beautifully crafted furniture. The Danes always seems to get it right with their sumptuous lines, natural materials and innovative designs. But its a Dutchess in this case, Floris Schoonderbeek, that has the obvious panache to create such a lovely vessel. This couch is more of an art peice vs. a practical sofa to live your life on and drop runaway crackers, bobby pins, and coins in between the cushions. The black bow is exquiste. Oh Floris, I want to 'Schoonderbeek you' for creating such an impractical stunner. Bravo.

All the Stars

Pretty decals...

This is so pretty. Shanna Murray designs such lovely decals that can go on anything, including chalkboards. This one is so romantic. It would just make me smile all day long. The world is decal crazy right now, but Shanna's decals are different- she captures an unexpected beauty and charm. If you want to be wooed, check out her work at http://www.shannamurray.com/.

Lovely Wedding

Fern, lamb's ear and cabbage...

Here are some stunning pics taken at a spring wedding featured in Veranda Magazine. I never could have imagined that fern, lamb's ear, and cabbage could be so wonderfully pretty together. I love the softness of all the green and white details. When I see photos like this, it makes me want to get married all over again, or at least plan someone elses wedding! Her bouquet is just gorgeous.

I'm also an absolute sucker for the bark candles holders-
so beautiful.
Heavenly.

Love, love, love.

I have two weddings to attend this summer. I am so excited to check out all of the personal details, and to hit up the dance floor with Brydon and Morgan. Morgan has no idea what she' s in for, but hopefully she'll thrive on all that pure loving energy that weddings exude. I'm always game for a good dose of romance, and all the warm fuzzy feelings that come along with someone's special day.

Whimsy at its Finest

Happy 3rd Anniversary to me...

Brydon and I's 3rd year anniversary is coming up this August 4th. We've been on a whirlwind tour since our wedding in 2007. So much has happened- life has been very good to us. I'd like to do something really special this year to celebrate... so I'm thinking this would be perfect. Set up a table in the country, a real feast for the eyes, and wine and dine with close friends into the late hours of the moonlight. What do you think? I am so charmed. The beauty of it just takes my breath away. Now, I want to experience it!

Jill Thomas (photographer extraordinare) is a genius, and yes, I want to know these people. It doesn't get anymore fabulous than this my friends.

The details are so delicious, I can taste the oranges and ever-flowing champagne. A girl could have a lot of fun with this, and Brydon could have a lot of fun making out with me in some random field under the stars...hopefully mosquitos aren't a big deal this year.
I am an aspiring photographer. My style is in the making. Since I gave birth to my daughter Morgan, all I can do it snap, snap, snap away! There is an Australian photographer whose work is so fabulous, it gives me goose bumps. Check our her crazy talent at http://www.jinkyart.com/. I hope to one day capture this life with such whimsy and precision.

A hodge podgy kind of weekend...

Bendy like her mama.

I spent the weekend with some of my favorite people. I love the intimacy that we share, the easy conversation, the hearty laughs, and of course the good food that always seems to come with. Oh yes, and I'm obsessed with my new camera! It clings to me like a new limb. I've named him Philip. He is absolutely dreamy.

We also spent some time at the farm this weekend, moving Bev's ancient horse 'Babe' back to the pasture for the summer. Bev thinks she'll maybe only make it through one more winter. The old beauty was ecstatic to be with her two best friends again, Jiggers and Archimedes- two gorgeous geldings. Babe used to be a bit of a bad ass. When we unleashed her, she kicked up her heels to show her buddies that she's still the boss. Sad to think the earth will soon lose something so beautiful. The pic below- I just love her shaggy hooves.

We hosted our first BBQ this spring. The weather was perfect, and it just felt amazing to be outside. Morgan happily crawled around the patio, investigating every inch. She also enjoyed the potato salad and some juicy watermelon for dessert.

I feel thankful for being able to share such closeness with those whom I love. When I glanced at a post-it-note on Bev's desk, on it was scribbled, "Self discipline is remembering what you really want." Need I say more.
More pics coming soon.

Is there such a thing as ridiculously cute...of course there is!

The perfect tee for my little monster.

So, I guess its pretty obvious I'm loving this mommy business. Having a girl is too much fun, especially when it comes to shopping for her. The pics below are from a company in Las Vegas, called Main Street. Everything is ultra unique and uber cute, of course. Take a peak!

I know, I know. You don't have to say anything. Must get this outfit for Morgan this second.
Adorable.
She looks like a fluffy little watermelon!
Is that a good thing? Yes.
Love those leggings.
Now seriously, whoever captured this shot is a genius.
That is just...ridiculously cute.

Live Like a Queen

Dream a little dream...
Something about a bedroom that inspires a child's creativity, allowing them to feel safe and experience a sense of wonder- a sanction for their imagination- a place to rest and play.
Love these owls.
I am so excited to get this memory birdcage for Morgan's 1st bithday. She can enjoy it through the years, even into adulthood. Its unique and will hang perfectly on any wall. I just love it. I also adore the family tree picture frame that hangs below. A sentimental way to showcase her nearest and dearest. So pretty too!

What a gorgeous little playroom. Organized chaos, love that.

Why this blog?

"There is no end to the ways in which we can share what's in our hearts. We all hunger for more self expression. It is an undeniable part of who we are." -Don Herald

I feel most alive when I am creating something original, especially in an artistic manner. In doing so, I find myself emphasizing rather than minimizing my childhood traits. As adults we must connect to this untapped source of energy that is our birthright .

Did you know that popsicles were a 'mistake' invention? Yup. In 1905, an eleven year-old boy named Frank Epperson accidentally left his drank out in the cold winter air overnight. The next morning, he found his drink frozen stiff, with the stirrer inside. Using it as a stick, the boy found his 'mistake' to be a delicious, easy to eat treat, and so did his friends. Years later, he brought out the newly named Popsicle, which became one of my favorite sweets...and a global obsession.

This blog will be very much a hub for my creative musings. I have started it as a commitment to myself to embrace my creative birthright and connect to my inner child on a daily basis. Why would I deny myself such bliss?

In other words, people don't grow when they are fearful. They grow and shine when they are free to be themselves. Julie Andrews loved 'brown paper packages tied up with string'. Well, I love over the top names like 'Little Miss Cupcake Sugarpants,' (I named my first Cabbage Patch Doll 'Jellyfishylovenight'). You may love to make luxurious bedding for your hamster cage. Why not? Hamsters deserve great linens too, but I warn u, they may be shredded in milli-seconds.

Ellen loves to dance, so she boogies her butt off at the beginning of her show to connect with her audience. Her carefree style gives others the permission to rebel in their own playfulness.

Whatever it is that tickles your sweet spot, indulge in it.

It just feels toooo good not to.

In my fairytale, I am "The Little Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe", but my shoe is a pretty wedge and I'm not so old. I'd love to renovate a big old house with numbered stairs and a cozy bed that lives outside on the deck. I can see it now...my husband and I, tucked under the layers of lavender scented sheets, cuddling with our sleeping babes under a starlit sky. For now, I am more than blissed out with just my sweet Morgan. Mmmmm, to dream. Lulu said is right, children really are 'the orgasm of life'.
Totally tutu...

I love being a mommy. My baby girl is almost one. ONE. I can't believe how this first year has flown by. Today I dressed her up in a tutu and took pictures of her by the window. Her eyes. Her smile. She is heaven on the move. These are the days I treasure. I only wish she could remember these cruisy days at home too. She is simply my Little Miss Cupcake Sugarpants. Enjoy some of my fav pics from our girlie shoot.
