Puffballs and Paint

I've spent a lot of time at home with the kids this month. Brydon has been unpredictably busy for December, so our little darlings have had their fair share of mommy time. Endless snuggles, crafting for Morgan- which is her new obsession, and plenty of pictures to journal these precious days.

I love the crazy crafting, but the clean-up is a drag. I've been trying to teach Morgan to stay semi-organized, but I'm finding out quickly that this is pretty much impossible for a 2-year-old. Well, at least my messy monkey. In the mean time, its fun, and if it creates a big mess, so what, its keeping her busy, happy and creative!

What our living room floor looks like pretty much everyday!

Bless.

Paint is the new bane of my existence.;)

The best (and the biggest) snowflake ever.
Yup, its square. No big deal.

So into it.

I like pipe-cleaners...until they get dumped out.
Try and put them back in the bag- ha!

Cove on the other hand, is rocking it out in his Jolly Jumper- steady. My saviour really, since he DOES NOT enjoy just hanging out on the floor with his toys. Tummy time has to be a scheduled affair. Usually, right after he wakes up, blissful from a good nap. Its the only way I can get him to surf on his cute belly. I sneak it in whenever I can. I swear he can sense when its about to happen. Little nugget! He's perfectly thrilled to jump the day away, but still manages to hang onto that adorable baby chub. Love that chub, like LOVE.

Edible, edible, edible.

Craft time always calls for bath time.

A Winter Wander

When the sun is shining, I do my best to bundle the kids up and head outdoors. Here are some lovely pics of our winter wander to 'the fairy forest' just a breath away from the house.

We spent an hour or so captivated by the frozen forest, knocking on the trees, asking the snow fairies to come out and play. The fresh air is so invigorating, and I love how it soothes Cove into a blissfully longer nap.:) Morgan was so dang cute with her walking stick. That tiny girl is such an old soul.

Sun-blessed

Sparkle Invasion

Morgan has been one creative little bee this month. My most beloved decorations on the tree are for sure the ones she has whipped up with her two little hands. Although, I am finding sparkles in every little crevice of our home, its been worth it. If the world were to end, we'd be left with the obvious- Cher, cockroaches... and SPARKLES. The sneaky little specs of glitter get into everything, drives me bonkers! The fine spaces between our hardwood- bloody gleaming. Whoopsie!

Here are some pics of her precious little Christmas masterpieces. Have a favourite? Feel free to put in your requests for next year!;) LOVE.

Sparkle Planet Morgan

The puffball Christmas tree- duh, an essential.

Relaxing after a hard days work. Sometimes, I let her have the last few sips of what she calls mommy's Chai 'Latti'. Oh dear;) xo

Deck the Halls

I love the transformation our home goes through at Christmas time. I enjoy putting away the everyday decor to make room for the festive garb that feels like treasures all around the house. Lights, oh little white lights, how I love you too. I can't wait until the dusk arrives, so I can plug you sparkly little suckers in. You make my home feel so cozy.

Morgan loves all the decorations too, and we've made it her job to plug in the lights, which she has taken very seriously. Like a pro, she tiptoes behind the Christmas tree, sure to not disturb the hanging pretties, disappears behind its massiveness and soon, viola! The tree lights up, and out she prances with the same bright and beautiful glimmer in her eyes. Makes my heart smile every time.

My mom captured the Christmas spirit for us kids like no other. Decorating our home was a big to-do, always with a smile, the smell of baking, amazing music, a heap of patience and an eye for such Christmas beauty. I hope to pass on all this love and excitement to my kids. xo
